National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) will be carrying out piling works at the Woolavington Substation site from 8 April 2026 for approximately one week
National Grid Electricity Transmission has announced a temporary change to the route used by construction vehicles accessing the substation platform off Woolavington Road. From 19 March, and for approximately three weeks, construction vehicles will use the A39 and B3141.
Planning application number: 54/25/00011 for outline permission comprising the erection of up to 150 dwellings for Bloor Homes was considered by Somerset Council's Planning Committee on 10th March and permission was granted
An update has been received from National Grid regarding the proposed sub-station
Over 70 local residents attended the Parish Council Meeting on 26th August to listen to and take part in, the discussion on two major planning applications for housing developments - 54/25/00011 (Cossington Lane) and 54/25/00013 (Higher Road)
South West Strategic Developments Limited have submitted planning application 54/25/00014 to build up to 170 new homes on land to the north and south of Combe Lane. Some amended plans have now been received (Jan 2026)
Bloor Homes South West have submitted an outline planning application to Somerset Council for a residential development, on land north of Cossington Lane, Woolavington. ref 54/25/00011.
